Families expect funerals. They expect some form of closure when a loved on has died. Almost every religion has some form of funeral service, and belief in the afterlife. With cryonic suspension, we are taking that away from those who are left behind. We are interfering with something many consider a naturaL progress. |
Look at the images of the people below. Who might they be? Give them names and then imagine interviewing them. Ask them: how would you react to the idea of people being frozen in the hope of being revived when they can be cured of the cause of their death? What would your reaction be to a company established to enable people to be cryogenically? Talk to everyone you know - over dinner, in the school yard, on the phone ... From the ideas generated by all the conversations, imaginary and real, produce a report explaining what level of opposition and what level of support you would expect in the community. How can Frozen Assets best address the concerns expressed? |

This guy, George by name, said that it doesn't matter what other people think. This is his life, he said, and if the technology is available then he wants the right to use it - even without a guarantee that he will ever come out again. Who has the right to stop him? He just wants the chance to live on and see the future. "Hey," he said to those who oppose him, "butt out. This is my life!" |
